Certified Personal Trainer, Certified in R.I.P.P.E.D.
I have had a general curiosity for health and fitness from an early age and have been involved in physical fitness on varying levels for over 20 years. I received a Bachelor of Arts
Degree in Biology and Spanish from the University of MN-Duluth in 2003, with a strong interest in human anatomy and physiology.
In 2010, I attended Basic 1 Zumba training and became licensed to teach and have been instructing fitness classes since then, with a goal of providing others with fun, safe and effective exercise. With a passion for fitness and a love for dance, I helped developed a class called Dance HIIT. Dance HIIT is a class that combines high intensity interval training and dance…a little bit of dance, a little bit of work; repeat.
In December 2011, I graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with my Master of Science Degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion and became a Certified
Personal Trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine.
In 2012, I decided to become certified in the will Power and Grace Method, a barefoot training method focused on balance and stability, functional movement and flexible strength and in June 2013, became certified in R.I.P.P.E.D. In January 2014, I earned a Barefoot Training Specialist certification through Evidence Based Fitness Academy and am currently enrolled in the NASM-Corrective Exercise Specialist certification program.
With knowledge of corrective exercise and barefoot training, I can integrate corrective exercise and barefoot training techniques into exercise programs that build strong alignment, posture, core stabilization, balance and flexibility from the ground up and core out, in order to help clients see faster results, move better and feel better. I balance time spent bringing fitness to the community, with spending time with my 4 children and my husband Ian. We enjoy camping, fishing, gardening, cooking, bonfires, movies and a good barbecue!
